Projects like this where you can really paint with light are a true pleasure. The complete control of the studio allows us to really dial in the look yet still move quickly between day and night looks.  We had the switch from a moon lit night look to a bright sunny day look down to about 5 minutes.  I strive for naturalism in most of my projects and try to keep the light feeling like it actually came from the moon or the sun.  Usually this means very large lights and lots of shaping and bouncing the light to create realistic shadows and highlights.
